Fur
Fur refers to the body hair of mammals. There are common animal sources for fur trimmed accessories such as minks, foxes and raccoons.
Once, fur used to be an important source of clothing for humans and has recently become only affordable by the wealthy. But the methods for fur production led to those animals suffering and probable extinction. The fashion industries answer was to turn to artificial fur because it has a similar texture, appearance, and insulation qualities to real thing and the costs can be reduced and protecting the endangered species. Production of artificial fur use different types of fibers such as acrylic, polyester, and so on. Artificial fur can be made in many styles and more colours than real fur, so it has become more popular for fashion apparel such as jackets, gloves, shoes and handbags.
